Direction of the Drive – February 18

It’s been a busy couple of months for Bsociable – it’s hard to believe that it’s already mid-February.

We started 2018 with a mindset to make Bsociable a successful and recognised business for its values and benefits. I understand that the journey is difficult but it’s NOT impossible.

I overheard a comment last week made by my son whilst he was training my daughter how to skateboard, ‘if you look down you’ll go down, if you look straight, you’ll go straight. That’s what daddy taught me when I was learning bike riding, so make sure you know the direction of your drive’ – It was a valuable reminder for me because it’s very easy to be distracted at the stage that we are at as a start-up. I had to look away and pretend that I heard nothing, I was getting the obvious funny looks from both.

January was a good month and we have achieved some key goals at the beginning of the year. We established a partnership with the Hills Puma Football Club and we are looking forward to working closely with the club community. It’s very encouraging for me to see that the response from our community is clear and they are willing to address the everyday problems – one that recognises that despite of the all communication tools available to us today, organising a simple game or an event is still challenging and it’s up to us now, how we respond differently as a community.

I have spent the first month executing many of the learnings from the H2 Accelerator program, and I am pleased with the growth as a result in our business. Kudos to Toby, Ben & Melissa to introduce Bsociable in H2 Ventures for the 2018 Autumn cohort. It’s comforting to have their support in the product and our vision, as a result they continue to introduce Bsociable to further investors for the seed round capital raise.

H2 Ventures are an early stage angel investor in Bsociable and together we are working to grow our institutional support base so that we can be recognised through our journey to become a leading global social platform that started in Australia. Given the length of time of our existence, we are not very recognised at this stage but we are getting positive response to our business.

We launched a robust MVP in October 17 and we are scaling north with month on month growth in the total number of users and unique events – most importantly we are building a stronger pipeline with groups creating recurring events. This will demonstrate our strength in execution as well as a product market fit.

I summarised the month of January with a theme, ‘If you want to win the lottery, you have to MAKE the money to buy a ticket’. We are strategically investing our time and efforts in buying these tickets.
